My uncle has been sussed lol. He hasn't paid for about 2 years and they decided to knock on his door.... they examined his "freeview" PACE box and he said it's just channels 1-5 and he was watching a movie on Sky Movies lmao.

wen the troubles was on over here alot of years ago, i think tv licence men wer afraid to come into aeras like wer i live as they wer as popular as the taxman. ther van would of probably got burnt out and used as a roadblock lol now that its peace and all that, they can roam freely and spy in windows LOL

I know it seems like robbery, but just get one. You open the door and they put their foot in. Your sr*wed. They call the rozers, come and take all your kit that can "recieve a UK transmission", if they wanted to, that could incluse your hifi(need a license for radio too).

TV License , have a pc and internet u need a TV License?
im sure few years ago they changed the rules.
aiso most have switched over to digital siginal which are only colour so colour version need.

and tip for u if u use next door arieal / sateliite dish and wire in urs home the tv deteck man will still no were ur tv is.

The guys knocking on the door get £25 comission just to get the occupiers name just ignore him or say the current occupier isnt home.Radio is free as a bird and you can watch tv on a laptop providing it isnt plugged in at the mains.If you dont intend to pay ,dont give your name.Captiva/tv licensing are just morons who pray on the vunerable and play on your concious.they may call the police but you dont need to let them in as this is a civil matter and the police may only attend to keep the peace although its always better to co-operate.They have no legal right to enter your home with out a warrant.by this time you may remove any equipment that receives a LIVE broadcast siganal.you are aloud a tv without a license providing it isnt tuned in to receive a siganal, for example just used to play videogames etc,wink.The licence allows you to watch LIVE tv broadcasts so you may watch catch up etc without one.More info in the forums stated on the 1st page of this thread.These are my own personal views backed by evidence from the stated forum and dealings with captiva and not those of Techwatch.

Well I thought it would be a good idea to see how long I could get away without geting a tv license when I moved into my first house, I managed two months and then came home from college at about 23:00 to find a standered leter from them that had hand written detils on such as the time and date that they had come round they had called at 21:00 at night and the letter quite nicely pointed out that had I been in and been caught watching tv I would have been fined £1000 and ended up with a criminal record so the next day I bought a tv license sharpish, personnaly I dont think its worth the risk but its your call!

can i ask how much you guys pay i pay like 22 pound a month they caught me like 6 months go my lady opend door the daft cow lol
