Default Sat Fitters In Newcastle upon Tyne

Hi,

Im looking to get a motorised sat dish installed. Anyone know of anyone in Newcastle upon Tyne or surrounding area that would be able to help?

Many thanks in advance.

Thanks. Is there an annual or monthly subscription to gain access to the various sats out there. If there is a will do and I can PM you (if thats ok). Sorry to be forward.

There are lots of FTA channels available on the various satellites, plus with the appropriate suscription premium services too.

However, anything else, i.e dodgy stuff, I don't have any interest. But a motorised dish or other means of picking up multiple sats is essential really.

Thanks Robbo,

I new to this Sat stuff, I was previously a VM person but guess you know all about that. Been with with VM over 10 but looks like I will need BT to do the sat thing - not sure if thats right. Please excuse my lack of knowledge but I am trying to learn - quickly

You don't need a bt line for a motorised dish, only fo a new Sky installation.

If you were going to fit it yourself, then it's OK to buy your own outside kit (dish /motor etc), eg from Southernsatellite.

However, if you were getting an installer to do it, many of them won't touch customers own kit, and anyway, if you allow them to supply, the whole job would be guaranteed including the parts (motor and LNB are the two components that would possibly require the engineer to come out at your own expense, if they went wrong).

Also speak to Ian at southernsat about receivers.

Oh, just to correct what I said above,

A BT line is not needed for Sky, a phone line from a cable TV company, i.e VM is OK too.( I have had Sky in the past, but kept my cable broadband and phone)

The usual advice dish wise is to get a 1m, as that is the max that is allowed without planning permission. It won't get most channels from most satellites, but there is no dish that would do that anyway, its impossible.
