I have used Dreamboxes for years and the 800 is easier to use than my 7000. You do not need to understand Linux to use the receiver although if you want to go into image and plugin development then it would be useful to learn the fundamentals. I have referred to the Python language which is used for the 800 Enigma2 system, in reply to your other post.

A keyboard is not essential for the 800 because everything can be done via the remote. However, since the Dreambox can be used for email and internet and Utube surfing a keyboard would make things easier and faster.

If you can pick things up fast then it should be very easy for you to master a Dreambox.

guys personally i think the search function in forums is terrible. wotever i type in i never get any matches.

all i want to find is a page or site that will let me read about the first things i will be doing with a dreambox.

although i dont know how to (yet) im sure it would be easy to download an image and flash it onto a dreambox and not noing wot ive just done. all i want is, to try and find sumwer that will tell me a few paragraphs about wot an image is and wot it enables you to do.

I WANT TO NO A LITTLE ABOUT WOT IVE JUST DONE INSTEAD OF JUST DOING IT ARGGGGH!

if you no wot i mean please help
