I have about 10months left on my Orange contract and it is £200 to cancel...
Do you think it would be worth ringing them saying i want to cancel and say another company are willing to match my contract for a better price? Would they match that price or will they only care when it is the very end of my contract? Bit of an odd question but thanks for any help

Orange generally won't discuss an upgrade/contract amendment until you are in the last 3 months of current contract. Once you are in this period, they will be able to offer different things depending on your usage/spend and length of time you've been with them.
If you want to terminate early they are (contractually) entitled to a severance fee.

orange have been good with me on this side of things.
1. i damaged my phone and didnt have insurence. this was a while ago and i just stopped paying for a couple of months. i then rang them and said i wanted to pay out of the contract so i could start again with a new phone. they said if i pay what i owe and take out there insurence i could have a new phone so i was quiet happy with that as at the time descent phones were quiet dear. 2. i started a new term on my contract and was supposed to have unlimited landline and unlimited internet but there system would not let me have both. it took a while and some pretty huge phone bills to sort this out. they refunded the difference of the bills they caused which was nearly £300 and loweredmy contract slightly. 3. when i started the new contract i was told i couldnt have an n96 as they had software issues and wouldnt be available for some time. less than 2 months later they had the n96 coupled with the fact i still wasnt happy with what happened with #2 so i emailed the md's office and a week later one of the md's secratarys rang. so i explained all the problems i had and that i wanted an n96 so she lowered my bill again and knocked 10 months of of my 18 month contract so i only had 3-4 months to wait before i could get my n97. like i say they are as crap as any operator but if your persistant you can get a better deal. if you want i can try and find the mds email for you but im not faffing unless you want it, as it took me a while the first time.
