It may superficially appear to work if your lucky but really the card isn't doing what it should be doing. As I said above, the keyset will be wrong so no AU and you effectively have a Rom10 RevA00 - no functional bugcatchers.

If you really want a similar image thats actually meant for Rom10 then you can use nagraedit to revert the image to a true RevA16 code image by using the card "clean" utility menu. This will overwrite the Rom11 codespace with a Rom10 one. The keysets in the dataspace will still be wrong though !

Also note, There will be no blockers etc active on either of the above images. The original Rom11 blockers wont function on a Rom10 and a cleaned image will have the blockers removed.

I actually do not see how it can even run the crypt processor with data/code having wrong values that mean nothing; I can only see it locking up and looping - The code wont mean anything to the processor in a wrong config.

It sort of works because its so wrong that the card ignores it and effectively falls back on only running its original ROM code. Think about how bugcatchers work by testing for trigger addresses. If the rom10 never generates a rom11 trigger address, then the bugcatchers will never be activated.

The data section, is fully compatible in structure. Just some of the keys are incorrect.

download the rom 11 image from bigmaq tooldar and just change the end to :

I did this to a few cards early in the year and when i tryed to read them in nagra the ATR string was invalied all i got 0000000000000000000 like the nov08 hit on mosc cards.....
