Default Payserver Warning

As it seems alot of users are talking about paying for c/s lately, I thought I would give you some food for thought about why it isn't a good idea.

1) All the operators care about is getting more people onboard for more subs. They fast become over subscribed and you will not get a stable picture. Once they absolutely need to make space for new subscribers they will boot you off if you have paid or not.

2) These guys frequently pack up and move on without warning and happily take your money with them.

3) They are the most likely to get busted, and your IP can be recovered from the server. Guess who's door gets knocked on next ?

4) Quite a few of these servers are based in eastern europe and the proceeds used to fund serious organised crime including people trafficing and terrorism

5) Many will give you a config file, rather than just a line. I have seen some that will allow the payserver full access to your server stats, and even some instructions that if followed will allow them direct access to your box. Now why would they want to do that ?

6) It isn't uncommon for them to "steal" their shares from other unsuspecting users, or even you if you sign up to one.

Please do not support Payservers, IMHO they are scum.

The real clue is in the name "Sharing" - enough said

Weather or not you wish to heed this warning please remember the forum rules in regard to c/s discussions

No Detailed Technical Discussion
No Exchanging Of Shares
No Advertising/Requesting Commercial Servers

I've posted this in both the Sat and Cable sections of the forum because I think it's pretty relevant to both at the moment.
