Post Newbie done his homework....

Hi guys, 1st post so please be gentle

Well i think ive read up on the subject and had my box apart so understnad a lot of whats being advised.

Lets kick off whats what.

6 hours ago i knew very little but knew what i wanted to research.

i own a pace 4001 and have done for sometime.

the box is already been up and running but wanted to get into updating myself when the cards go down.

had my box apart and checked the talkback was sorted, all good their.

even though it was already running until 2 days ago i thought id just double check the talkback leg on the chip was removed.

ive read countless threads regarding IRD, Boxkey, the EM on the box which i was able to access and get the info from.

looking on the sticker on the scart i got a reading which the chap has also written onto the nagra card, underneath the written one is 2 more codes of hex with a different hex to the one on the stikcer of the scart, one of them has a tick next to it.

was wondering if this is just the conversion or if it is a hidden hex for ird as i read an ird can be masked. not sure so maybe i could advised on that possibly.

also went into the downloads, checked plenty of stuff out, i.e. cable for dummies.

dont think ill need most of the programs due to my box already having been done in the past.

installed both toolbars mentioned through out the forum but both keys are out of date (12/10/09)

found Keymaster 1.2 but doesnt work/boot up.

have tried it on a dual core on frame net 1.1 but without luck. 'application failed to initialise'

then tried keymaster on my laptop, upgraded it to frame net 2 but nothing, not even an error just a quick flash of a bios window.

Also, IRD. when in the EM on my box i have a 12 digit nagra serial, in the TUT im sure it said 10 digits which will then be converted to 8 digits in hex.
So am just a little lost on that as the serial comes in groups of 2 then 4 then 4 then 2 digits respectively.

Until i get my card reader i cant play with nagraedit so will wait on that one so i can see it in action and give more of an idea of what it doing. maybe i dont need it but ill check it out anyway.

so having brushed up on a little info it seems all i need is an image as such.

checking the net i see a few updates appearing but not sure if they for my box etc

until my reader arrives i dont know if my card is rom10 or rom11, will have to wait i guess unless there is another way in the EM to find that info?

you guys with me upto yet?

got the idea of what im trying to find?

hope you can help as i spent a lot of hours researching/reading/googling/reading thread after thread etc etc

not sure what info i should put up from my box or if indeed it is needed.

thanks for any help you can give.

have a merry christmas all....

/off to rest tired eyes and head full of new info

Just finished readin NoviceAngel TUT which has helped me a little.

i now know the following...

rom11 Nagracard
00008 area
talkback cut
pace 4001

unsure of how to get the ird from EM as mine is 12 digits long starting '03'
but it is already on the card in HEX so no worries there. (on a sticker in pen)

reading the NA TUT it might even be possible that it is justthe dates that need doing on my card and not a new image.

Although it been a few months since my card was last done (march/april?).

so am at a dead end for now.

As i think, possible the one thing im looking for might be the hardest thing for me to find.

No worries, ill persevere with it and keep reading articles and educating myself on the issue til i get a response.

well done for trying to enhance your knowledge. alot of people just want answers and dont learn anything.

as for the ird enter the first 10 digits of the ird in windows scientific calculator and then click the hex button. does it match the one from your card?

Ok here is what you need to do to get you Rom 11 card up and running, fist read your card in nagra to see if it's unlocked, if it is then follow this tut m8;
Setting up you Original Smart Card
To get your Smart Card up and running you will need these tools;
1. Infinity USB phoenix card programmer or similar
2. Nagra 4.1
3. NagraDate
4. Unlooper to unlock the card
Assuming you card is unlocked and ready for modding; Open you card in Nagra 4.1 and click on read from card “blue arrow” if you card is unlocked then all the details will be displayed, then click Data Editor “underneath the blue arrow” then follow these steps to set up your Mosc card;
* Tier: '01 IRD Info (41)’:
*Edit the sub tiers:
-IRD number (enter your IRD number “backwards” in normal format)
-BoxKey (enter your BoxKey number in normal format)
* Tier: '06 Provider Info (58)’: This is where you enter your Cam Id;
(you can make up a combination of numbers/ letters to replace xxxxxx use 1 to 9 & A to F)
-TW Cam ID starts with 2CXXXXXX example 2C31E7D1
-CW Cam ID starts with 27XXXXXX
-Pure Cam ID starts with 24XXXXXX
* Tier: '08 Standard tier (31)’: Edit the sub tiers:
-Expiry Date (using Nagradate - enter a future date in here in hex format)
-Rights Date (using Nagradate - enter a future date in hex format MUST be different to expiry date)
-Rights Identifier (TW: 9896D9/CW: 98974F/Pure: 9896D6)
-Min Channel (keep as 0001)
-Max Channel (any number between 1000 and 32415 - make sure you convert this to hex format using Windows calc)
-Modification Date (can be altered to any date in the past - just to make your image unique -- hex format)
-Begin Date (can be altered to any date in the past - must be a date before the modification date you enter - hex format)
For all the dates you can use NagraDate Converter “it’s in the download section” so you can change the date from Dec to Hex, example “21/07/2009 = 24A7”
To insure that the image will update when on stream;
Public Key 0: put all the 0’s
Public Key 1: put all the 1’s
Once you’ve done all that click on write to card in Nagra 4.1 (Red Arrow) then insert the card in your box on channel 101 (BBC1) and give 10 to 15 minutes for the keys to update (you might get the error message on the TV screen) it will go once the keys have updated, then go to S*Y Sport and check, if everything was done correct you should get all the channels, if not just go over it again and correct any mistakes.
Good Luck
