Default BBC i-player (Beta) now available on Freesat

As already reported BBC i-player has been testing its i-player on the Freesat receivers.
The version testing is a beta, and not the final version.
Yesterday, the code enabling access to the beta i-player was released unofficially in to the public domain.
The code is 5483
To access i-player on the Freesat receivers, you need either a wired ethernet cable or homeplugs.
Go to a BBC channel, press the red button and enter the above code.

Just to add.
Make sure that the network settings are set to DHCP,as manual settings don't seem to applicable at the moment.
You may need to reboot your router.
The screenshots have been taken from the Humax Foxsat HD.

Another cheaper wireless route to connect Freesat receivers with ethernet,to the internet is a wireless gaming adaptor, which is often sold at half the price of homeplugs.i.e £20+

Ive only seen a Gaming Adaptor for £26.50, not £20 lol. I have to admit though, a plug does make things look a lot neater For a tenner or so more, may be worth the money. See here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NETGEAR-XE102-...item439bc86d1c

The homeplugs are a discreete option, but you have to be aware that your entire property has to be on the same electrical ring circuit, otherwise they don't work.
Secondly, the ethernet cable is connected from the home plug to your end product e.g games console, stb etc,and you'll find that the supplied ethernet cable is usually no more than 1.5m,and you end up,having to purchase longer ethernet cables, just to connect the homeplug to your end product, without having to move everything around and in that sense is no more neater, than the gaming adaptor.
People often forget you require two homeplugs for the wireless connection to be made.

I bought a brand new Belkin gaming router for £19.99(including P & P),and there was plentiful stock at that price, just a couple of months ago.
The beauty of the Belkin gaming adapter is that it is USB powered,in addition to being mains powered,so electricity is not needlessly wasted.
