I have read this thread in its entirity with great interest.
As a Virgin customer myself taking the min TV package 10MB BB and phone line for £25, I too am guilty of "stealing" extra channels. I dont think there is a wrong or right opinion - just an opinion which everyone is entitled to. On one hand Virgin have every right to introduce nagra3 and remove all illegal boxs. At the end of the day they are a buisness and must run it as they feel fit and to protect the company staff and customers. But on the other hand, I pay £25 a month for what is without doubt the best BB around no question. But by encrypting all dodgy boxs, this will inevitabley lead to "customers" either leaving for SKY, BT, Free SAT or just simply being happy with a freeview box. Lets face it theres tonnes of crap on the TV! But people in their droves will leave Virgin no question. Be it for financial, moral or sour grape reasons. Me, when it kicks in which I believe is around March time for my area, I will sit down and do what I do with any service I sign up for - look for the best deal! If thats Virgin then fine, but if its another provider then im afraid loyalty is not a good enough reason to stay when we are deep in a reccesion! Like I say, everyone is entitled to their opinion and I dont think anybody's is right or wrong, but D day is upon us soon!! That we know is true! Neil. |
