Default Processor advice

Hi there. I'm in search of some help as I need a new laptop - internet card has gone and display driving messing up on current one. I have two questions though.

Firstly, I've always had sony vaio's in the past but I think I might go with Dell this time as they seem to offer better value for money. Would guys recommend Dell?

Secondly, with dell, there is quite a big price jump between processors. I'm looking at a studio 17 and it comes with an Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Processor T4300 (2.1GHz, 800MHz, 1MB cache) as standard.

For an extra £110 you can get a Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T6600 (2.2GHz, 800MHz, 2MB.

It seems like quite a lot of extra money, but, in laymans terms please, is it worth the extra cash?

Thanks in advance!

100MHz extra CPU power costs £110 ?! My advice would be to stick with your first choice mate.

I myself do shop around and would very rarely buy a dell.As blakey says stick with your first choice. Youd be better off without spending extra money on negligible performance

Im not a big fan af dell as a company, they fecked off from Irl to Poland but you do get what you pay for, 700 for This or 429 for This not a bad price
