Im having problems viewing channels when i select them via the Fav button
When im browsing the favs in categorys like sport and movies ect i can see the channels fine, however certain ones once selected just go to blue screen with a message ''no channel'' Funny thing is those same channels work fine when i select them via the standard listing of channels (all mixed together or alphabetical) Also i cant see whats on in a few hours, only 1 program per channel, for example if the simpsons is on at 6pm thats all i can see, i cant see whats on after that. Finally i have the box connected to my sound system via optical cable, and iv noticed its only outputing a stereo signal. Does the box not output DD 5.1? if not then whats the point of an optical input? If anyone could help me out i would appriciate it. cheers |

Hi,
Not sure with your channel issue but it could be a glitch in the frimware?? The optical out will outputs whatever the channel is broadcast in. Dont think there are many channels that broadcast in 5.1 only HD channels. Depending on your amp i reckon it will make it virtual 5.1 anyway. |

Thanks for your reply
Channel issue is sorted, just messed about with a few settings. With regards to the sound issue, still no joy. I should be getting 5.1 sound on the movie channels, none HD ones. Most of those channels provide full 5.1 support. I only get pro logic 2, which is not to bad but cant understand why i see a dolby icon on the channel selection but its faded out. Googled and posted in forums but not one person can confirm this box can handle 5.1, which tbh considering it has optical output i find a little strange. |

have you tried selecting another audio track to see if it works? I know that one track has the annoying subtitled track on it but was just wandering if there is a 5.1 track or not? press aud on the remote and I think its the second option down to select what audio track it plays?

AIUI, VM only use 5.1 audio on the HD channels, the SD channels are all 2 channel sound even the movie channels.

I had sky HD before this box and most movies (both HD and none HD) were 5.1. I find it hard to belive that virgin media does not output none HD films in 5.1. Thats a joke......good job im not paying them ![]() Ok then thanks for the replies. Mods feel free to lock |
