pace ntl box

just got a pace ntl box off a friend but when i boot up on the screen it just says ap.52 (on the tv i have just the vm logo ) is the box gubed and should i just bin it or can it be fixed

It sounds like wrong Net ID mate. What model of PACE is it (look at the white sticker underneath the box).

Have you tried a roll back ?
sometimes works, but 2 b honest i agree wif Blakey cud b the net ID

What cable area are you in? Pure, Ex C&W or TW? All yo need to do is pull the red jumper inside the box for 2 minutes, plug it back in, if you are in Pure the box will update itself, if not then you will need to boot to the EM (hold up and down and connect power, release when you see LDR, SND or ENG) and check page 2 to see if the Net ID is set to 09999. If it is, you will need a Funcard (programmed with your BK, IRD and Net ID) if you are not in Pure. There should have been a sticky on the forum but for some reason it is linked to the "Free Beer" sticky (tut tut at the mods lol)!

thanks for the info feel a bit stupid i have opened up the box but cant find the red jumper , To be honest i don't know what i am looking PS i am pure

It is located near the power supply area mate. Remove it for 2 minutes (with the power removed!!!) and then re-insert it, boot up the box with the cable feed in and it should update itself and set the Net ID .

Like blakey said the box will update it self, but you will need to boot into EM and set the frquency and set the pin first then plug the feed and let the box do the job of updating it self m8.
Ps: red jumper on the 1000 b is near the battery m8.

Sorry boys but i am all new to this to i am still a bite lost i cant find this red jump box and if i did find it i would still not know what to do as all the jargon is going right over mt head (you will need to boot into EM and set the frequency and set the pin first then plug the feed and let the box do the job of updating it self ) so i think i will just have give it up as a lost cause or wait for one of those idiot books how to reboot your box , So thanks for all you help and i hope i have not pest rd yous to much

ps i was trying to upload a pic of my box but i cant even do that (that's it i am away for a triple vodka ) thanks to all and to all a good new year.
