yep, everything working fine elsewhere. Changed Scarts around, coax, dvd, etc, the only thing not working is the no picture on the Eurovox

think it's sorted
I found a (very) old scart lead , plugged it in - voila! Strange because the Scarts I've been using and swapping around worked on everything apart from the EV. Gremlins 
anyway, cheers guys for your help. Off to make the most of it before I get "nag'ed"
