Hi guys,
Merry xmas to you all and happy holidays! I have registered to this forum to learn new things and share info i already know. By the way i am not a complete noob to card sharing and have read quite extensively but would like to ask advice from people who already used this method before. Heres what i would like to learn: I currently have a subscription to VIASAT and along with it a viasat nds card with thomson digital receiver. Viasat is broadcast on sirius nordic beam. 1). What is the best box for me to buy to share out my nds card with my family? 1.1) Are there any HD boxes which will allow me to do this also please bear in mind best value for money; i dont have a fortune to spend. 2). Can anyone point me towards a good guide to how i can share out my card including all tools etc i need. 3). Althogh im almost certain to the answer to this i would like to ask to confirm, if im using a receiver to share out my card can i also simultaniously receive a card sharing stream from someone else e.g for sky? 4). Lastly, can the linux boxes you use to share out your card share it while on stand by? |

1) One of the Linux boxes
1.1) There are several HD Linux boxes on the market 2) Google - we dont permit detailed discussion of card sharing techniques here 3) Yes, although Sky UK will be implementing new anti card sharing techniques in the near future once the blue cards are finally taken out of use. 4) In light standby I believe they can. 3)

1) Choice of a DB is a personal thing. Personally I think the DB7020 is the dogs danglies, but then I have no use for HD transmissions. There arent many HD capable linux boxes around at the moment, and some of them are frighteningly expensive....
Do you need 4:2:2 capabilities for feeds? If so you are severly limited as to the receiver choice. You need to sit down and think about exactly what features you require before anyone can suggest some boxes to you 2) Very few of the old hands will give you exact info about card sharing techniques or links - its not something we seek to publicise on the forums. Settle down with Mr Google and get reading for a couple of hours, do the footwork everyone who is interested in c/s'ing techniques had to do to learn how to do it - the info is out there. Harsh maybe but many of us think cardsharing is the work of the devil and not to be encouraged..
