Default ex6000 dead

hi all, i've just tried a firmware update on a ex6000 and the box is just dead now, it is not picked up on my pc or any pictures on the tv. i used kuro2 from ccbox. any help please.

did you extract the winzip file and rename it to kuro2.stb

you can load the file with a memory stick its alot quicker

sorry marky i used a file called "stbtool" which looks much the same as the software for my ex5000. i never renamed it. still have no way of getting anything from the box.

Put the KURO2.stb file on the root of a USB drive and insert into box, the box should detect the firmware and update automatically
2) If it does not auto-load, press Menu, then from UTILS "Download", enter the PIN (0000), select the file and Press OK to load..
3) Use the RS232 loader with the box connected to a PC with a null-modem cable

Do a factory reset and then scan for channels or load your NDF.


ok if youve done that the first time, then explain what exactly is happening to your box is the box powering up.

when you connect your box upto your pc via null modem haveyou got the power supply inserted and dont forget the "on-off switch" at the back of the box i know its simple but usually thats the case. give us more info on here please

hi guys i think i either never extacted the file or i put a wrong file on the box.
im unable to get anything from the box still, i will try the memory stick way as i was using a null cable.

hi all i've tried a memory stick no joy. the box is still not doing anything. it has got power going to it but nothing on the screen or on front of the box. does anyone know if there is a way of resetting it. cheers

You may be able to resurrect it with the PC loader and null-modem cable. Start the application first, set the COM port and click connect, then power up your box - it may take a few minutes to respond, so be patient.
