Default I dont know if this true, but if it is, it spells bad news for us

See here:‘The US dollar has failed. We need to delink’ | Red Hot Energy and Gold

A friend told me the Kuwaiti Dollar was really strong. I didnt believe them(I thought despite the recession the GBP was still the strongest currency in the world) I then clicked on that link and it will spell trouble for us or another invasion by the US

EDIT: if the telegraph is reporting it, it could be true. Another thing which is quite disturbing is, I was looking at youtube about the real intentions behind the US war. Although the documentary was basically a conspiracy, and I spotted most of them, the person(I think Alex something) mentioned that All Arab states will become like the EU and even mentioned the "petro" dollar, which is a new idea in terms of currency

Its been muted for quite a while now that the US$ is no longer the supreme currency it once was and that a new standard is needed with speculation that a possible replacement is a new currency based on a tie-up between the Chinese Yen and a multiplex of middle east oil based currencies.

It was only a few weeks back that a story was going around that the Euro may also tie itself into this new standard abandoning its historic links with the US$. This seems to of been partly scuppered by the UK which favours continuing with the US$ (UK is always lead by US policy interests).

lol, i believe if countries ditch the dollar, our prices will rise for everything. The UK always has been the biggest puppet of the US,besides poorer weaker countries such as India,Pakistan, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. If only the UK had its own policies or followed Europe instead.Germany has one of the best economies in Europe.Theyre richer than us,more efficient, more economical, not a throw away society like us,no obesity problems and renewable energy sources are very popular there.despite not really being a hot country, a lot of Germans have solar panels on their roofs

theres also been discussion about the amero on brians financial forums

i think the pound is as good as dead.

the Euro will be the way for the United Kingdom to go,with the pound and the Euro virtually like for like i would not bet against it happening in the future,we are now the sick man of Europe still in a recession,we need Europe now more than ever.

Tis a shame as the pound is one of the oldest currencies to date. The Euro will get stronger as more and more countries join the EU, making the Euro strong and forcing us to use Euros.Or the EU could go the same way as the Soviet Union and fail, bringing economic misery

What a friend suggested was when in economic downturn, adopt the Euro, but keep the pound on one of our little islands so that we can always go back to it, if the Euro fails
