I would like to ask all you guys something
Ive noticed a few posts where guys are asking how to programme their funcards and find boxkeys etc,and they're told to read, read & read some more. Some of the guys are the one's who hate v**gin,n*l,etc,so here's my question--Why doesnt someone actually give a step by step answer to reading & programming a card for the newbies' box? I know that its taken you guys a while to gain the info, etc, but come on,isnt it all about sharing. It strikes me that the people who say read the tuts are prob the ones who are charging people for this service where they live. No wonder they dont want people to know! If you ask me,some of the people here (and I presume this from the tone of their replies!),wouldnt really give them the time of day as long as its not costing them their "secrets"! So what would wrong with,say:- 1.Take card, insert into programmer 2.look under box for boxkey, etc etc etc 3. 4. 99.switch on box. You're now up & running! See what I mean? It is the internet afterall. |

It takes time to write guides. Besides there will already be guides and tutorials out there, I'm sure one of the cable lads will be kind enough to post links or why not write the guide yourself once you've figured it out?
No one gets paid to help on this forum, anyone that does provide help does so because they want to. I for one am happy to help people who are prepared to learn for themselves, give it a go and ask when they get stuck. It happens all to often than people ask before they have even tried because they are too lazy to find the info for themselves. And the more knowlegable people on here have got most of their knowlege by figuring things out for themselves, rather than being spoonfed the answers. Not trying to have a go at you m8, but this is the way I feel about this issue.

I think telling someone " To go and read" is being lazy and unhelpful.
![]() I also think giving someone a step by step guide, when one has already been written is a waste of time and tedious. ![]() The best option in my opinion is to post links to threads/guides etc that already exist on the forum, the member can then do some work for themselves and ask questions when they get stuck.

fair enuf- can you tell me where the guide is thats roughly in the same manner as i explained. Ive read novice cable guide etc-nowhere there.
I know the threads are already there, but why doesnt someone take a little time & do it step by step, plain & simple?1.insert card.2drag & drop etc etc etc.u know? there's too many people that crave telling people to go to a certain thread or post. I swear, when I find out how to do this, the one thing that Im going to do,straight after,is tell people in a straight forward way, step by bloody step, how I did mine.I know Im gonna have a few know-it-all's saying-stop being dumb, its all there in the threads etc,and to be honest they can keep posting the same comments, and see where it gets the majority of new people on here. Maybe Im mistaken,-has someone done a step by step guide as Ive explained,& if not, then why doesnt somebody do it.especially if they're the same individuals that keep harking on about branson, etc Last edited by stooge75; 30-12-09 at 04:56 PM. |

You are missing my point.
If a very nice person writes a guide, and another very nice person tells you where it is, what is the point of retyping it all out again just for you. People do take the time to do step by step, I have seen loads of posts like that. I can't tell you where it is that you want though, as I don't know. I don't often venture into the cable section.

I knew nothing of any of this 6 months ago and still learning, i read the tutorials fine, googled words I did not understand, I think some people are just a little impatient, you CANNOT learn this quickly unless you already have a good computing backround, Everyone on here started somewhere you just make do with whats available and the fact of the matter is its FREE so why complain?sorry to be blunt but I perservered like alot of others and am seeing alot of people after a quick fix so to summarise be patient make friends with people and fill your head with info every night till it hurts and you will get there eventually!here here?!

When you get your programmer you will get plenty of help on here, if you have read the pace cable guide you will have a basic idea where to start, just give plenty of info with questions which box what card etc, because if you dont you will just get a question back, what box ? which card ? etc, that happens a lot, as robbo said trillions of members have gone through here before asking the same questions so its all here, some of the stickies are hidden in one folder at the top of cable tv chat, if you get really stuck pm me.
