RANT: VM dont do freeview

I never answer it if it rings, I let the machine get it or the wife, or make calls on it, that's what my mobile is phone is for, have to use my minutes.

Get a voip phone !

You can get free local uk numbers from a variety of sources and many of the voip providers allow free incoming calls (no line rental etc). You only need credit to make an outgoing call.

I've had one for ages now and never had a problem. Works fine via VM BB cable connection. Quality seems better than a normal phone line in most cases. Doesn't cost me a penny cos I only use it for incomming calls.

i use skype to phone the usa and france great quality and its free as long as they have it....the cable free view she paid a one of £30 fee

in cabled areas they will provide freeview like service for free in most cases its M TV package, its available with nearly any bundle and is free for phone only customers

out of network they will provide a freeview box with VM written on it

I think freesat is the way to go,when I cancelled my sky I had my dish hooked up to a couple of pcs to view bbc hd and itv hd.on a whim I deceided to buy a dish and cable from ebay because the prices were so low and have a go installing at work.got a lot of information from the internet and took my sky box and dish to work with a compass.I either got very lucky or it was easier than what I thought because I got 90% signal and strength nearly straight away(thats not to say if I did it again I would be so lucky)nobody has ever remarked about the sat dish being on the building at work either I've since ditched the sky box and put a pc there to get the HD channels,also I have put a quad lnb on the sky dish at home to feed different rooms.My main point being is its well within the scope of a diyer to install there own dish without special equipment(except you really need a stb to check the signals and that your aimed at the right satellite) and you will if you use a pc and a satellite card get HD very cheaply.
