In my opinion Virgin is the way to go,they don't have as much HD content at the moment but it will get better ...you are right about the broadband Virgin cannot be beaten on that as its delivered via fibre optic cable whereas Sky uses BT telephone wires, so if you dont have a BT line you need to get one of those too ...another plus for Virgin is they look after everything for free if you have problems, but with Sky you have to pay ....

If ONLY VirginMedia had the SkySports HD Package, then it'd be a no brainer 4 me.

when the roll out is complete, all sky hd channels will be on vm. this is why sky insist on vm going to n3. to secure their programes. vm is best for broadband and phone.

I have to disagree. I have had nothing but good things to say for sky TV for years and having had the phone and broad band with them I am even more convinced they are the way to go. My son and neighbour have has VM and I am not impressed with the TV service and nether are they. The internet is good if you avoid the lowest package. Sky also has the advantage of letting you distribute the signal to other TV's and letting you control the box from them as well. you can also have up to 8 feeds from the one dish.

Its one of those things there's no best, just what's best for you.

The internet is important to me but I'm too far from the exchange to get decent ADSL so it has to be virgin for me.

There are so many differnt packages available you need to look for the best deal for the package you want. Sly will be best for some, and Vermin for others.

I threw in my lot with Sly last year and have got to say their broadband is pants compared to Vermin.

If you like yr sports Vermin don't have the red button function when multiple games are shown on same channel.

Also don't forget that if yr in a Vermin area you can use that to your advantage, i have never paid for replacement Sky+ boxes or engineer call outs, usually just threatening to cancel and transfer to Vermin is enough for Sly to waiver the charges.
