Default Having Probs With Sniffing Or Am I?

I am using dhcp sniffer for macs but the macs start with 86. for the ip when i got all my other macs from my mums they started with 10. does this matter???

The 86 part is the start of the IP (or Address) and 10 is the start of the TFTP.

so can i use tftp macs obv. out of my ubr. is there a possibility they might work

You can only use a MAC if it has a Bootfile or Config Filename. You may need to swap these MACs (some that DHCP Sniffer finds are useable but for the majority, you will need to trade with someone out of your UBR).

8* is a CPE IP and 10* is HFC IP.

Probably you're just getting offers of new CPE IP's when they come up 86*, so these can't be used.

As said, you need one which specifies a 'bootfile' for it to be useable.
