Default Flat Dish Set up

Hey guys, I received an OAS flat dish from my friend who had no use for it anymore.

Now the LNB is in the middle of the dish and thus I thought that this is a dish you need to point directly at the satellite than the standard curved dishes?

I want to set it up for Hotbird 13E and might try it on 16e. I live in North London and according to dish pointer for 13e

Code:
 Elevation: 29.7°
  Azimuth (true): 163.7°
  Azimuth (magn.): 165.4°
  LNB Skew [?]: -10.1°

  Dish Skew [?]: 90.0°
The elevation is 29.7 and my question is that as the dish is a prime focus type dish, will the angle of elevation be higher than normal?

I was also wondering if anyone had any experiences using this dish, as I heard they are not as good as the manufacturer makes them out to be.

Cheers

Yes, it is 'like' a prime focus dish, so the elevation angle will be the same, for hotbird the dish face will be at an angle of 29.7 deg from vertical.

I doubt very much if it will pick anything from 16E, but you should be OK with Hotbird.

Not used one so can't comment on its peformance.

Thanks Robbo, I will get it hooked up soon and comment on performance. I also have a quad LNB spare and will try and replace the stock one and see how it goes.

Do you think its worth motorising this thing?
