@Robbo Not a bad Idea.

Can you ftp/telnet to the reciever using DCC ? If you can go into the telnet window and change the password by typing the following command

passwd

it will then prompt you to enter a new password twice

Close DCC and go into the loader.

In the config screen Type in the IP, then check the "for other images box"
then enter the username as 'root' and the password as whatever you just changed it to. Remember it is case sensetive. Then save.

Go into the update screen and press update, then choose the image file to flash and hit update.

let us know how you get on

Is your reciever connecting to the internet? If it is it will display a Mac Address on the communication settings screen.

Can you connect with telnet in Dreambox Control Centre ?

I recommend you plug the laptop into the router as well. If the wireless signal breaks up during the flash you will brick your box. The best route is through the router.

Anyone with one of these recievers has gone through similar with them, so don't worry about it

Try rebooting the reciever when you have saved it. So long as you enter the same IP in the loader as what is on that screen, and the reciever is connected you should be able to flash it.
