Just received a SMS from Virgin Mobile - apparently from 28th April to 30th September, it'll be free to send text messages between different Virgin Mobiles.

Sounds good to me.

That's one way to get folks hooked on text messaging, isn't it? I think my provider charges a small amount of money per month for unlimited text, but I'm too apprehensive to try it for fear I'll become a texting maniac. How's that for a fear of technology?!
