Default Multi screen

Hi everyone,

Just wondering, I have a toshiba laptop for work and I constantly recieve emails and switching between multiple programs. Is there any way I can display my emails onto an external monitor so I can view them at any time while I can work normally on my laptop screen??

Thanks
Jim

Recent laptops can spread the Windows desktop across multiple monitors.
My fathers Acer has (only) an HDMI output, and with this it is possible to display eg. Bluray (from the laptop drive) via the HDTV whilst continuing to us the laptop via its own display.

However, some laptops may only be able to duplicate the internal display on a monitor/TV, or use only one display device at a time - depends what graphics chipset supplies the output.

With this laptop it is possible because another employee is using it. His is is setup so his email is constantly opened on an external monitor while he works away on the laptop screen. To work with his emails on the external monitor he just drags his mouse to the end of his laptop screen and it appears on his external monitor and vice versa to get back to working on his laptop screen. when he opens Microsoft Outllok it doesn't open on his laptop screen it just opens on the external monitor. I have all of the correct cables connected as I can display exactly what is on my laptop onto the external monitor but I just don't know how to keep the one program constantly open on the external monitor while I work away on my laptop screen.

Hope I have explained this enough for you to help me.

Many thanks

99% of my programs open on whichever monitor they were last used on.

I just tried Outlook 2007, moved it to the other monitor, closed it and opened it again, it opened where it was last.

To do this you select dual view in the display properties, not clone.
Now select desktop manager, and move to part where it reads span display, tick the
box and your done.
Now when you move the mouse, it will cross over to the other display.

Alucard.
