From yesterday, new installs in the following areas were getting the new cards, and anyone getting a tech visit would get a new card. Cards will be posted out soon too.

watford codes 374 and 375, (not sure what those relate to, i dont deal with tv)

seven kings, codes 314 317 318 370 372 373

kirklees code 230

Perhaps someone can let us know exactly what the numbers relate to
The numbers identify the cable franchise based on the DTI (dept of trade and industry) franchise from the original franchise sales.

All this doom and gloom over the N3 switchover??. It was inevitable to be introduced at some point and I for one will stick with VM and upgrade to their V+ HD box and XL and Sky Sports TV package.

I enjoy reading all these posts about dumping VM and switching to Sky!!. I'm glad about this as it will free up so much bandwith that us loyal VM users will enjoy a vastly superior experience with our TV and Broadband because of it.

Please leave VM guys so our fun can commence. Before you do though do some research first as VM have some very interesting developments in the pipeline that will make you regret your hasty decision??

Have fun!

Unfortunately, it probably wont achieve anything as far as bandwidth is concerned. TV services are mostly broadcast so the bandwidth is fixed regardless of the number of viewers. As for the modem side of things, i'm sure the freeloaders will continue to use the internet using dodgy modems even when they have Sky TV.

Yup, especially with the modded boxes having 'talkback' cut, no extra bandwith will be released, just more £ from subs.

Modded modems are now far fewer due to the introduction of BPI+. Some users will continue to get free internet albeit at a lower speed than before, but for the masses, free internet is also dead.

For those that are looking for free internet may even look in to mobile BB from O2,but O2 are starting to use "deep packet inspection" now, so its not the best...

Mobile BB is cheap though! 24GB bandwidth a month for 24 months, with a cost of £200 and your not stuck with a landline either!

I suspect that many people will switch to Sky as it's considered to be a superior TV package, they were only on VM due to the hackability. The VM TV package may improve with more channels available due to increased security and regulator rulings but not due to fewer viewers.
