cheers

3.7 is the new firmware 'upgarding hardware' in preparation for N3 [nagra 3]which will enable the switchover.

3.7 firmware update/then new cards/and finally Nagra 3 is enabled, then its bye bye free cable

quotes from another forum:

Once your area goes over to nagra 3 and the older revisions are switched off any box other than a payed for sub will cease to decode channels other than the terrestrial 1 to 5.

this includes after market boxes such as starview/ eurovox/ kryptview and dreamboxes. it also includes modded original boxes and all cards from moscs to fun cards.

until nagra 3 is hacked this will not change. and for the record nagra 3 has been in operation on the european satellite networks for over 3 years so just because it's come to uk cable dont expect a over night solution.

if your area is not on the list -it soon will be this will involve all UK.

Pretty much when they get around to it although likely within the next couple of months.

VM have just taken on a load more staff for card dispatch and call centre work to handle "problems" during the transition period. They also seem to be accelerating area conversion with an awful lot of their engineers now dedicated to the switchover. A lot of the backend work has now been completed so expect things to move forward quickly in the coming weeks.

Dont think it would be a good idea to discuss my sources

Nothing I mention publically is particularly secret though.

why dont all people who have cable to tell the cc that they all have bad backs and cant bend down and put card in box, then they will have to pay to get more tech guys out and that will take a lot more time and some people will have to wait longer before the switch over,,just a thought

Just thought id ask this..
If he worked for cable, would you expect him named and publicly beheaded due to telling half the UK cable modding community on arguably the 2nd biggest site for this in the country?

I guess if it was from a VM source then fair enough :L I still wouldn't state it here

anyways, Birmingham will be soon
round about what area you in? start of postcode = B64, B65? B91? B2?
^ not giving away too much, but i can find out an estimated time for ya

you feel very strongly about it so much so that you decided to join the forum to tell everybody.
