Hi,

Can anybody help with this.

I had 2 working T42 laptops, now one has given up.
I initially swapped over the screen inverter from the broken laptop to the working one and it worked fine, also swapped over the hard drives and again worked fine. I've noticed that the hard drive icon (like a little drum?)
is not really lighting up when the laptop is booting up????

Any help would be appreciated.

try getting into bios and see if bios can see the drive,if bios sees it then could be other drive error, if bios cannot see it then try any other drive and check in bios,you are trying to see if its a board fault or a drive fault.

Hi,

The screen is completely blank. How would I get in to the bios? I've heard about pressing the (F7 key or something) while booting up.
