Default Jam Woried

Serious one here from Jam!!!!!!!

I don't have a broadband feed BUT I can detect an unsecured feed on me lappy (told yer all on previous postings that I cancled all services with VM due to being in a financial mess) OK someone told me today that if I use this feed that the boys in blue can arrest me and put me in the slammer fer doing this, a said well if they don't secure thier router then that's thier fault.
If I hack thier wep then fair enough!!, but a ain't hacking this feed, it's open and not protected.
Where do I stand here guys.
Jam!!

My sis in law had been using an unsecured connection from an office block opposite her flat for years, we only discovered this one day when i was at her flat and i happened to ask what network she used, she was completely unaware that she needed one and didnt even know that you had to pay for it, she thought it came free on her laptop, when she uses her laptop at her school ( shes a teacher lol ) it must pick up the schools network, she was over at my house a few times with it and was puzzled why it wouldnt work, i didnt take much notice and just let her use my pc.
We got her a dongle now that she is happy with after her panic that she would lose her job and go to prison.

i setup a linux pc only a couple of days for myself btw and not to the point i need to get it to but a start
i am using a wifi usb stick atm for this pc to connect to my netgear router and i was finding a open network i am on a quick connection and even if i was not i would have done the same thing i did
so i went out knocking on doors untill i found the person's house with the un secured network was coming from then made it secure that was my good deed for the day
but at some point when i am bored i will have a go at hacking wifi just for the hell of it

you'll be fine Jam.Even if the old bill were interested which i doubt you can just play the idiot and make out as far as you were aware it was a hotspot you were logging onto.Just make sure you dont answer the door before you've hid all yer krypts and tools of the trade.
you'd be amazed how many round my way are unsecured.
