Default FTA Channels on VM feed without STB

Hi chaps,

I've done a search on this and think i've got the jist, but would appreciate some clarification.

Right, i'm trying to get digital FTA channels by plugging my VM feed directly into the tv (my tv has built in freeview), but no channels appear after a scan. I then tried a scan for analogue channels, but again nothing. My search on here brought up some results about a DVB-C tuner so the VM feed can work without a set top box. Is this true? If so, is this a common feature on tv's? How do I get around this? I thought DVB-C tuners were for PC's?

Cheers in advance.

Even if your tv doesn,t have built in freeview,...connecting your cable feed to your tv,will get you atleast 1-5,..here in notts we can get 20 odd channels.

Yeah that's what I expected, but not getting anything. Tried tuning in 2 different tv's with direct cable feed (one with built in freeview, one without) and not getting any channels on either. Weird cos my cable signal is fine.

That is wiered,..and you have your coax cable plug into your antenna socket?,..if so very strange,..as you said your feed is ok,..as this normaly points to dead feed.
