ok i posted this ages ago, but didnt really get much back

i have got a old tw drive (sliver) been sitting in a box for over 3 years, when i connect it, i dont get no picture from scart, hdmi, ect

i think it had, well 100% sure it has never had software on it ( a hit )

can someone :

a) get a bk from a non hit box? is there one listed in the chip?
b) can a dump of the new virgin software be put on to get it working?

idea`s or spares

Try holding play and stop while you boot the box and select the output. I'm not sure if you could get the BK without a hit. I would say so if you could find which chip holds the dump.

is the card paired there is and was a prob with the early vpus box /ie tw silver style had no hdmi socket working i have since found that fault but you need to be able to soilder

is there a net id in the box

You wont get the bk out of that box m8, you cant remove and replace those chips as a diy job
If its not had a hit the net id will need setting via the 8 leg chip underneath board, if you set that you would at least have a freeview box with record function.

as far as i remember never had a card, and was one of the first lot that had telewest blue menus
