there seems to be a hell of a lot of bad feeling between the sat and cab guys, on this site, is it really that you,s dislike each other that much, and if so why, or is it just forum banter getting a bit heated. i,ve had help off both sides, and i think you,s are both a good lot. cant you,s both just get along

Its just a bit of banter on my behalf - i was bored at work earlier and some pics were uploaded- i too have had so much help off people on techwatch it would be ungreatfull to say to the contarary,

Ive got no axe to grind with 99.9% of the cable lads. Some of the technically inept ones who cant be bothered to find the correct section of the forum & post their "help me get free tv posts" in the sat section annoy me but most of the lads are fine. We have had a few of them come over to the sat side of the hobby as well

BTW - a reminder that if anyone doesnt like any moderating decision for any reason whatsoever can always contact Brian the boss and appeal a decision. All mod decisions are open to challenge and a request from the boss to " explain why you have done it." he has the final decision on what goes or is reinstated.

As far as i'm concerned this isn't a cable vs sat problem (Cable & Sat are effectively the same thing when it comes down to it). Its simply a problem with rules and the interpretation of rules. Making this into something it isn't is not helping anyone.

I may not agree with Analoguesat's decision but I do believe he made the decision with the best of intentions which, as a moderator, its his right to do. I've moderated before so I know what what these decisions entail. Hopefully, mostly you get it right but when something comes along your unsure about you have to err on the side of safety.

Im sure most folk would much rather one or two posts are removed because one of the staff thinks it could encourage something undesirable.

Rather than we lose the forum because someone has posted something totally illegal because they thought it was ok, and one of the provider security goons spots it before a mod does..... Because it could happen.
