Hi, you need to have the right Ram for your machine, if not then they will not be picked up properly by it. What is the CPU speed, it has more to do with the speed of the machine than Ram? If the PC has been used a lot there will be loads of rubbish on the HDD and if you have, or can borrow, a copy of XP then do a clean install and reform the dish while you are doing it, then you will have a nice new OS on there and it should help the speed a fair bit. It only takes about 40 minutes to do and you will be very happy with the results. If there is anything on there you would like to keep, then download it to a USB stick or DVD and you can put it on the PC when you have installed XP.

Just put the disk with XP on it in the DVD drive and boot your machine and you just follow the instructions on screen, it is real easy.

Regards Wez
