Default UBR help for a newb

hello peeps a newb with a few questions if i may!

ive been sniffing got some mac codes so all good there but my question is i checked my ubr on subbed modem and get

cpc4-tilb*-0-0-*********.cable.virginmedia.com

but on my other modem which is not subbed which has been up and running for 2 years now without going down has the same ubr result as the 1 above is this possible as i thought a different mac brings a different ubr or am i wrong any help appreciated as i want to attempt 2 modems and i know that youy are not aloud 2 of the same mac codes on the same network?

cheers

you should really edit your customer num etc before posting, edit now if you still can.
Your ubr will remain the same whatever modem you use subbed or modded but i would expect the customer number to change with the Mac?
unless someone knows better?

Yep cust number would change with mac AFAIK, but if same mac is used on diff ubr then it gives you a diff cust number.
If virmin wanted to, they could prob track him down, but then they got to prove he been on that ubr at that time...He mighjt have lent his modem to his mate on a different UBR. Or somethin.
When we use a mac, the orig subbed customer rarely (if ever) gets a knock from VM, so i wouldnt worry about posting the exact ubr "code" as its just circumstancial. Ask mods to move it tho if u wish...

Happy sniffing!

Best guess, your modem is using the config previously assigned to the modem...Try unplugging your modem after changing MAC and plug in again...shouldnt give u same cust number if using a diff config and ip

no dont worry about ur cust number. they gotta prove its actually you. more hassle to them than its worth i think chap.
you not tld anyone your name and address on here or anything, so could be anyone m8. chill and dont worry! they got bigger fish to fry believe you me lol
