Hi all,
I’m thinking of buying this Samsung HT-Z120 5.1 Surround Sound System. I know it’s not a great system but buying it purely for the sound as I already have a Sony HDD RDR-HXD890 recorder. I also have Samsung TV - LE40B650 and PS3 slim. I want to connect my TV, PS3 and the Sony HDD recorder to the Samsung Sound System. Can anyone please tell me, what is the best possible way to connect all these devices so I can get 5.1 sounds out when I’m using either of the devices? (TV on it’s own, PS3 or Sony Recorder, as it is fully HD 1080p) My TV’s got: 1 Component In, 4 HDMI, 1 DVI Audio In, 1 PC and Audio In, 1 Ant In, 1 LAN, 1 Headphone, 1 Digital Audio Out (Optical), 1 Service (whatever that is?), 1 Audio Out (L/R), 2 Scart Ext (AV and RGB), 1 AV In, 2 USB and 1 Common Interface (Whatever that is also?). My Sony HDD Recorder’s got: 1 Analog and Digital Aerial (In/Out), 1 Audio (L/R) Video, 1 Component Video Out, 1 S-Video, 2 Scart (Decoder/TV), 1 G-Link (whatever that is?), 1 HDMI and 1 Digital Out Coaxial. PS3’s got: 1 LAN, 1 HDMI Out, 1 Digital Out (Optical), 1 AV Multi Out. Samsung’s got: 1 FM Ant, 1 Video Out, 1 Aux In and 1 Component Video Out. Help please! Any tips and advice on how to connect? Thanks. Last edited by Superstar; 16-01-10 at 12:19 PM. |

The Samsung does seem to be lacking in a lot of connections but then you already know that. If you are intent on getting the Samsung HT-Z120 then all you have to do is connect the audio o/p from the TV to the Aux i/p on the Samsung HT-Z12, that should give all your sound through the amp.

Hi Charlie1966,
Thanks for the reply. By connecting the way you said, will it give me the full 5.1 sound or just the stereo sound, 2.1? And how about the rest of the device, how do I connect them to each other? I had a Multimedia sound system before and all I got out of it was 2.1 and now I’m returning it back. Thanks. |

I'm baffled as to why you would buy the Samsung HT-Z120, knowing how limited the connectivity is. What is your budget?

What if I buy a multi Scart adapter and connect the adapter to the TV and then all the other devices to the multi adapter, or connect the adapter to the DVD sound system. Will that do the trick?
I might need to buy a 3RCA cable and a Component cable, to help! Can anyone advice? Please! Thanks in advance! |
