Default So what can I do about getting Sky??

Hey people,

so I am getting worried about Vermin swapping their signals to Nagra 3 and me no longer enjoying my cable tv!

So I heard that there is a way of getting Sky through the internet and then transmitting it over to your tv via a box. I have the following questions:

1) it this possible?
2) Is there any way of getting Sky via a box or the net?
3) If the above is possible can you record like you can with Sky+?

many thanks
Sakaveli.

Youre thinking of card sharing, no more than basic talk of it allowed here so hit Google for all your answers.

TBH I don't see CS working out for most of you and Sky are supposed to be implementing countermeasures soon anyway so I wouldn't bet on it solving your needs.

yeah, only basic talk of cs is allowed at this point. this may or may not change on this forum.

you should use google to search and read the vast threads about this topic.

Sky are implementing new anti card sharing techniques in a few weeks / months so with any luck the entire problem will go away!

To be honest the best way to get Sky is to pay for it.

Your not wrong there

I subscribe to sly HD, also I have a TM9100 that gets me the rest of what I wish to view.

There is no way on the planet that I would use my sly card in any other box other than the one supplied by sky, for a start you lose best part all of the sky+ and EPG capability.

Then due to the encryption the cards are very hard to share (without freezing every few seconds) once you get more that 3 or 4 people connected to it.

This is at the moment, remember that sly have just completed a massive card swap for ALL of there customers. There is no way that they would have done this without good reason, just look at the amount of posts in this forum (and any other forum for that matter) regarding card sharing over the last few months. They are getting a lot more common and will continue to when VM completes it's change to N3. If you and I can read the posts you can bet Mr Murdock can.

I for one do not think that we have seen what the new ND$ 3 system is capable of. One thing is for sure, they didn't change it for nothing. We will soon see in the coming months/weeks.

Sly/ND$ have been secure for years and I would be amazed if they let people sharing there cards continue for much longer.
