Exclamation cam id and IRD guide (sticky)

_===++++ HOW TO GET YOUR IRD. WHAT IS AN IRD & A QUICK RUNDOWN ON ALL CAM IDs++++===__

BIG THANKS TO BEFAST

First things first.......
Q.... WHAT IS AN IRD?

A 1. The correct proper name for an IRD is an Intergrated/ OR /Interactive Reciever Decoder number.

A 2. On the UK Cable Networks an IRD is assigned to a box. This is an 8 digit (4 byte) unique set of numbers & digits for YOUR BOX ONLY!!

Once they are combined they make up 1 Number in HEX like 12 34 56 78. (I.E. A Customer BOX num). This is explained below..

It works exactly the same way as a Number plate for your car. 1 reg= 1 specific car.

(As most peeps know Cars can be "cloned" and this also applies to UK stbs and other generic Worldwide stbs or Cable boxes)

ANY discussion on how to do box cloning on these forums is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN Just like IEMI changing on mobiles.

So...Admin/Mods may choose to ban anyone without warning who choose to discuss this topic and other forbidden topics.

ANYWAYS On we go...

There are 3 different ways to get your IRD. So I`ll start with the main way of obtaining and knowing you have your TRUE IRD.

IRD METHOD 1

1. Power on your box and boot into Engineers Menu (EM).

2. Push the > button on the box and go to page 2 of your EM.

3. Look for Nagra IRD Serial Code (You will see 12 digits)

4. Note down the 1st 10 digits. (this is all you need)

5. Open windows calculator, click View, Click Scientific, and make sure its in Decimal.

6. Enter in the IRD Serial Code from your box. (10 digits from Page 2 of your EM)

7. NOTE: A Pace box will start with 030. A Samsung box will start with 104.

8. So for example if I had a Pace and the Serial code was 0306 1234 56.

Then I will enter in 0306123456 into windows calculator and click HEX on the left.

I will get 123F12C0. This is the TRUE IRD. Same applies to Samsungs.

(NOTE: When using windows calculator the 1st zer0s will not show if the code starts with a zer0. This is normal)

NOTE> ALL DAVIC AREAS SHOW YOUR IRD IN HEX ON PAGE 2 OF YOUR E-MENU ( So Theres No Converting needed)

All YOU need is shown quite clearly in this Pic to convert your IRD from Deciaml to Hex.

NOTE: >> This is Page 2 of Engineers Menu on a UK Pace 4010 box In a DOCSIS Area.

NEXT>>>

IRD METHOD 2

Remove the lid from any PACE box and look at the scart connector. The IRD is printed there in HEX mode for you.

For Example the IRD would show 12 44 55 66 instead of 0306468198

NOW FOR IRD METHOD 3 Look on the underside of the Pace box for a serial number on a sticker. The sticker has a barcode and a 10 digit number.

This will start with 0306 and 0306 = Early Pace Stbs) 0307 = Pace 4010)

1044 = Samsung 2100, 1045 = Samsung 2110 1043-1046 = Newer V+ & Samsungs.

NOTE::: On the 2110s look for the serial number on a sticker on the back of the box next to the cable feed.

NOW FOR CAM ID INFORMATION -

A Cam Id= Conditional Access Module.

Cam IDs (explained below) are specifically set and split to 3 Individual cabled areas. PURE V Media- TeleWest- ExC&W.

METHOD 1 - TO OBTAIN YOUR CAM ID

Again go to page 2 of your Engineers Menu and look for SmartCard Serial Code (12 digits) And again you only need the 1st 10 digits.

This is your CAM ID.

Enter them into windows calculator the same way you enter in your IRD. So if my Card Number was 06 1044 2355 80

I would enter/paste into calculator in decimal 06 1044 2235 and convert to hex it would be 24629BFB. NOTE I didnt use the last 2 digits again.

SIMPLE METHOD 2 TO OBTAIN YOUR CAM ID

Simply look on the back of your OSC/MOSC and theres a number that usually starts with 06.

So you may see for example 06 1234 5678 90.

You only use the 10 digits again here and enter them into windows calculator the same way as you would an IRD.

So if mines was 06 1234 5678 90 I should now Enter/Paste 06 1234 5678 into Windows calculator in DECIMAL mode, then click HEX.

My result would be 247FA74E.

NOTE: All PACE IRDs start in HEX with 12 and all Samsungs and V+ boxes start with 3E as do all the SA boxes.

CAM ID AREAS

NTL = 24 XX XX XX

CW = 27 XX XX XX

TW = 2C XX XX XX

Update.....Just had a Rom to unloop and the CAM ID was 24 8A XX XX. So it seems they done all the 24 9xs for now.

Simply Replace X with any Digits & Numbers between 0-9 and A-F. and you have a Working CAM ID.

I.E Pure V Media is DOCSIS - 24 99 AA BB or C&W 27 99 BB CC and finallyTeleWest-DAVIC 2C 99 DD FF.

(These CAMs I just made up there, but will work perfectly as the prefix is correct.)

WM released a very simple application which calculates your IRD (from the Nagra Serial Code) and also tells you how to calculate the CAM ID from a smartcard .
