Yes, it is. Seeing as you can do everything that a non-jailbroken phone can do PLUS so much more. Just make sure to READ up carefully first on the subject. Here is a great tutorial. click on your model on the graph etc http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=2311

Please Remember,
some think that Jailbreaking also unlocks the phone for any network, that isn't the case, i have read some bits, and Jailbreaking basically opens up the phone a bit similiar to itunes, BUT, the server for the jailbreak is called cydia, and it appears as an "app" icon once jailbroke. I recently jailbroke, to see what it was all about, mine is a fairly new iphone, and wanted to see what else it could do, up until recently there has been no option once you upgraded to 3.1.3. On itunes with a MC model. i read up on a site about a new jailbreak called "spirit", its straight forward, simple to do, but you must read to make sure your iphone/ipad/ or other is compatable with spirit. (GOOGLE - "IPHONE SPIRIT") Unlike other jailbreaks when you turn your iphone off you have to re-jailbreak When you turn it back on, "spirit" dosen't do this, it allows you to turn off and on with no problems, note this was from a phone that had not been downgraded like mine. Its all out there for people that are interested, once i achieved jailbreaking it opens up a new world and you can change so much on them examples of this are font type, wallpapers, backgrounds, customise your app icons etc etc the list is endless! i would like to add, i actually put mine back to its original status, as i was curious more than anything to see what it was all about, hope this helps people that are a bit curious about jailbreaking! |
