Default Loosing channels on EX5000PVR

Hi guys, I've not been on here for a while as my Eurovox EX5000PVR has been spot on, with regular channel scans and near enough no hiccups.

I've noticed this morning that a few channels are now showing "scrambled" and a couple like ITV and Channel 4 are saying "no video/data input". I did a scan and a few more channels came up, but none to replace the above scrambled ones etc.

I've done a bit of reading on here and I'm getting the idea that V Med*a are using some new kind of encryptian which will mean no more channels for me? I'd just like to ask if I may need to purchase a new box (which one if necessary) or is it a case of waiting for new codes/firmware off the net.

If anyone could explain the changes in non-tech talk I'd be very appreciative.

Thanks

Nagravision 3 is the problem, 28 stations are down and a lot more will follow its not just put in a new bin file or buy another box that will work on nag 3 , there is no quick fix at present but you can be rest assured the tech guys will be working on it, Ireland lost there stations about a year ago and there are still no fix for them.

Very simple. VM are running out a new totally secure encryption called Nagra 3. There are no workaround for it, so when your area is N3'd your only option is to subscribe to the channel mixes you desire. Or do without.

No codes, no firmware, no keys, no au, no fixes.

You pay or you do without. Your choice.

Harsh but fair I guess. I've had good usage out of the box and some very good information and help off here so I'll wait and see what happens. It would be nice to think the tech lads will crack it, but I suppose a cheap V*rgin M deal until then and internet football will suffice

Thanks for explaining, appreciate it.
