Question Starview 4 lost channels

Hi I seem to have lost the picture on ITV, ch4 & +1, Sky Prem & +1, Sports extra and probably a few others.

I have powered off for 2 mins and then done a rescan but they are still black. Do I need to do a factory reset and then scan, I haven't done that as the channels are still showing but not getting the pic.

Is V 1.07 the latest as thats what I have

The screen often goes black when settling on a channel, I then have to flick up and back down and the pic appears, something that has never been a big problem considering the benefits but this time there is no pic and been like that for an hour now.

Thanks, your help is appreciated

hello Granty
I, like you have lost ITV channels and channels 4 and 5 and a few others . There is an interesting article on the techwatch home page called

Virgin code update cripples cable boxes

throws a bit of light on the problem

Tried the Menu 1570 but nothing changed except it does actually now say no signal on the missing channels rather than just a black screen, I'll have a look for that article thanks 59thJack

Ok so I got Channel 4 and ITV back........partly anyway
I have just done a factory reset and rescanned but now all of the channels are black but the ones I had lot now have sound but still no pic?.

When people talk about the 8882 error they usually say the code stays on the box don't they? When I turn my box off it flahes up 8888 then 8882 and then b1 01, is that normal, maybe i'll try a re flash later if I can't work it out

Now I got 1 to 5 but not much else, guess this is Virmin playing games after all but I do have Virmin Central, lost ITV2 and most other free + subs channels.

Unless anybody knows what is wrong and how to solve this I guess i'm stuck, is this what happens when a new code is needed? would a reflash of V 1.07 possibly do any good?

Thanks for any help guys

Check all connections first,if no good do a factory reset from a direct feed (no splitter)
Remember to turn Keycode on

Thanks mate, I'll own up to that one I didn't realise keycode would turn off with a reset, everything seems fine at the minute, still not sure why the channels were lost originally as they'd been working for almost a year but all that matters is thanks to you guys i;m up and running again, Thanks
