To be honest i would not have a clue were to start any help would be great.

what is it you need to get the modem going if you know what i mean.

is it software

its a scientific atlanta EPC2100 cable modem.

I see you did introduce yourself...my bad mate your post didn't come up at first,for the info you need theres lots of useful stuff on the site but for your specific modem here's a link to most of what you need to know,but do replace firmwares mentioned with the latest or at least later versions.
