I read a post not long ago from a member deriding members for boosting their post count by welcoming new members.That annoyed me.He did not know that such posts do not count to a members post count tally.
Now I happen to believe that any new member that takes the trouble to introduce him or herself, should be welcomed.
A few members do take the trouble to welcome new members.and get no recognition for this.
I realise that if these replys counted for post counts. we would all be at it.
I welcome a few new members but some do a lot more. We all know who welcomes most new members.
But I think that people that take the trouble to welcome new members,should have some recconition.
A Medal maybe.

On another forum I frequent there was one member (now banned) who used to write "good post mate" after every post made by anyone. His post count was in the thousands before he was banned.

Personally I see nothing wrong with responding to an introduction. Keep up the good work as far as im concerned.
