Default ambit 256 goes down on static ip?

Hi guys, not sure if this is in the right place, please tell me if its wrong.
in my room i have a pc, a media center and a moded xbox. to transfer files between them i have set tje xbox and the media center to a static ip so i can use ftp software to transfer files between them. when i have the media center powerd up or my xbox my modem will go offline (ambit 256) my upstream and downstream lights will go off and my ethernet light will flash. is this the effect of having 2 static ip's on my router, my pc is not static.. any help guys..??

that shouldnt happen, lol.

i'd say it was gremlins.

it shouldnt make any difference but you've not set any of the three devices to the same ip as the modem have you?

is it a wireless router?

half of my devices on my network are static, some of them are assigned by dhcp. you can have as many as you want. (i've got switches and access points alover the house)

turn the modem and xbox off, plug xbox straight into modem, turn them on, let us know what happens then i.e. do you get net on xbox

not really, it would boot you off more regularly than that.

might be a signal issue which is brought on by bandwith demand?

i know one of my modems drops off when i unplug the coax from the v+ downstairs.

have a look at the signal page and let us know what that says
