the answer to the question you dont want to ask is :

more than likely

it may only be the firmware thou, the bootloader might still be intact

i use putty now cos you save a session and then each time you just double click and its all good to go, dont have to select data rate, com or anything else

ok got putty.seems easier than tera...
WITHOUT opening it up and max232-ing i managed to just put in enet cable and switch on...
power and enet solid send and sync going crazy(alternating flashes)
loggin into 1921681001 shows me :

Cable Modem : DOCSIS 1.0/1.1/2.0 Compliant
MAC Address : 00:14:**:**:**:**
Serial Number :
0014********
Boot Code Version : 1.1.2c
Software Version : 2.111.1002
Hardware Version :
1.9
so this cant be fried am i right?
the mac is not reverted to the one on the underside but the one i used when swapping macs in haxporware 1.1rev38
(and as far as i get the jist i shouldnt have bothered as rev39 is unstable...my luck eh.)

any help appreciated folks

I'm still using haxorware 1.1 rev 30 on a 10meg mac thats been working flawlessly for ages now..

Perhaps you could downgrade to an older version and see what luck you get with that? If you're curious, the modem in question is a Webbie 2100 running ambit 250 mac and spoofs, working for at least 6 months with nothing bad to report and lovely clean event logs

as i say though i cant access the haxo page via usual route.when you try to log into 1921681001 it goes to virgin modem page(as i showed above) but with the mac i put into HAxo.hmmm......
