Default Nag3 & Advertisers

Replying to another post about if its worth buy a box, I was thinking about....
We are all watching the subscription channels for free, the advertisers are getting lots more people watching there adds, so when Nag3 comes in there will be less people watching the adds.
Will the SKY/VIRGIN, re-negotiate the advertising fees?

I agree, but virgin must have an idea of pirates, else they would not be spending money on Nag3

Flicking throught he channels yesterday and came across a channels which they broadcast intentionally because they know it will get picked up in a channel search..says something along the lines of if you are using an unauthorized box to get their channels it will stop soon, and to go to this website or freephone. Also in brackets says dont worry we will not ask question, or ask where you got the box. lol

I'd have thought that it will only help Virgin as it will force some people to go legit and immediately the viewing figures will look a lot more attractive to potential advertisers.

After all I doubt that their advertising reps are currently saying "we get this many viewers but we estimate an extra x% of illegal viewers on top of that."

Form VM's point of view it doesn't really matter. If they only get 1% of the new subscribers then its more than they previously had. Its far more likely that they'll end up with a much larger mumber though

They will get a larger proportion if they roll it out in stages, area by area. If they elect to roll out nationally they will be shooting themselves in the foot.

The evidence is starting to suggest they will do it in much bigger areas than previously thought. Possibly, there will only be 3-4 rollout areas involved.
