It is a very interesting question mate. I should think they will be putting their overall prices up to cover the cost and that there will then be no extra for the HD content.

Don't think so mate. From what I've read you can get the hd box without the sub but if you want hd channels you still gotta pay. It's a huge money spinner for them. You'll pick bbc and itv hd plus the hd box has a bigger memory. That's about it without the hd sub.

be interesting to see what they do on that one, they wont (surely) be able to charge that extra tenner for hd to new customers, cos i just dont think people will pay. maybe spread the cost?? 2 or 3 quid extra to all and sundry?? who knows.

I heard a report on Sky news and it suggested that the box is free for HD subscribers, but there will be a cost if you don't take HD, I suspect the £10 HD fee will remain and currently there will be 4 HD channels available without paying the £10 - BBC HD, ITV HD, 4 HD and Luxe HD, not sure about E4 HD.

''The E4 HD service is available on channel 215 via Sky HD only, so you will need to have a Sky HD box and viewing card, be a subscriber to Sky’s HD pack and have a HD ready TV.'' From e4.com.

That's what I wasn't sure about, with E4 now being free I thought it may be available with any active card (even Freesat) like C4 HD.

Have you actually tested and confirmed that? I've known channels websites to be wrong before

E4HD is definitely part of the HD pay pack.

BBC HD - fta
ITV1 HD - fta (limited service)
C4 HD - ftv (card required)
Luxe HD - fta
