Default Need help finding Picture by Picture TV's

Hi there,

First of all sorry if this is in the wrong section, I don't seem to be able to make a new post in the home set-up section. It's not exactly innapropriate to put this here though.

My problem is this, I am a noob to the latest tvs and I need some help identifying a couple of Picture by Picture model tv's. The aim is to have a PC on one side of the screen, and my freeview box hooked up on the other, obviously with the ability to switch either the PC or freeview TV to full screen as needed. I don't really want one of the pictures to be in a box in the corner (PiP) as the intention is that me and my gf can use both at once to full capacity.
Pretty much everything else as far as specs is "I'm not really bothered". I would like it to be large, because obviously otherwise splitting it in 2 won't leave much screen space. I have been into a few shops asking about this and it seems that this side by side method is pretty rare nowadays but was a bit more common 2 years ago or so.
So yes, I was hoping you good people could point me to a few models that fit my specifications as I am having a nightmare trying to search for this stuff on the internet as I keep ending up with PiP stuff instead.
And yes I know I could just get 2 tvs or a monitor and a tv for the same price but that isn't really the point, most of the time we are either both on the PC or both watching tv, but sometimes we aren't, so this would be really useful for us.

Come on guys, nobody has any suggestions? This is my last hope, don't want to stick with my shitty standard def, but there is no space for a big tv AND a monitor on my desk.

I'm not sure what you're asking, as don't most HDTV's offer this feature anyway? OR am I getting confused about what you're asking?

If you can give us a better idea of actual specs required and general budget, that might make it easier to suggest a couple of TV's to consider looking further at.

I was under the impression that most HDTV's only allowed you to have a small picture in the bottom corner of your main one. What I am after is a tv where the image can be split right down the middle with both inputs taking up equal space on the screen. According to wikipedia this is called picture-BY-picture (as opposed to picture-IN-picture). Also, according to the guy in Currys, people rarely make TV's with this feature anymore. I'm having a hard time tracking down any TV models that do this.
The price can be anything really. As for size well it will be about a meter away, so whatever is suitable for that.

Afraid I'm having problems finding the same - the latest one I can find is a Vizio:
Vizio GV52LF HDTV 52-inch LCD

but I can't find anywhere selling one at the moment. Seems to be quite a high churn rate for HDTV models, and picture-in-picture isn't something I'm seeing come up with any new release that I look at.
