Full on discussion will most certainly not be allowed - there will be very strict rules about what can and cant be discussed if/when it happens.

Say this goes ahead, in your opinion (I know you don't want it), what do you think would be able to be discussed? And to what extent?

Hard to say but I guarantee there will be no posting or trading of c-lines (or any other lines used by other cams) under any circumstances on the forum.

The rest is open for discussion between the staff atm

The card share section is currently an experiment - there have been discussions on the matter, and we don't want to be seen to be censoring topics - but TW aims to be a general - and legal - tech forum, which means we don't want to have anything published that offers detail and help for people looking to break the law.

If people want to talk about it - fine, there's now a special area to do so - but if anyone wants to describe how to do it in detail, that's obviously not going to be acceptable under any circumstances.

Since when did we vote for our leaders? As far as I'm aware, Brian pays the bills, Brian is ultimately liable for any content on the site, so it's Brian's dictatorship to do with as he pleases.

Not that I'm saying Brian acts like a dictator, but since it's his neck on the line, why should anyone else have a say in what goes on here?

I remember someone I knew going into management training at a leisure centre and showing me how there were descriptions of different types of manager.

There is the dictator type manager, who simply tells everyone what to do and doesn't listen (I think we've all met these at some point!) but I always felt or hoped I was the team leader type - that means sure I have to take final decisions, but the hope is that I do so only after listening to what people want and weighing them against what we can actually have.

Remember as well, if anyone posts anything illegal to the internet, it is them - not TW - that is breaking the law. Trying to ensure we stay legal isn't simply to protect TW from legal notices telling us to take so-and-so thread down - it's also to ensure we never get served with a court order demanding any information we may hold on members.

It's very little - IP and email address - but no doubt some people here are on Virgin or Sky broadband services, posting to the site, and would be easy for either company to track down and prosecute with even that basic information.

Hence we stay legal for everyone's protection and happiness.

This is going to end up as a free for all. I'm in agreement with AS & KW on this one. Its a spectacularly bad idea that isn't going to work and you can guarentee it will be unmanageble

Its going to make last years Virgin Encryption change look like a walk in the park. The moderators are going to be clearing up posts left right and center which contain stuff that you really don't want NDS looking into

Still its not my decision so i wish you all the best with this new idea

Forgive me if I sound stupid with this, but how is CS discussion differant to having links on the site to FW that is only used to get free VM tv???

There must be legal reasons to use CS - e.g. milti room (I think), but with the Guides, tuts, and FW that the site gives I would have thought this to be worse.

Only asking this as I am interested in knowing the answer - not trying to pour petrol on this fire

I have posted this on another link but no reply, so thought I would add it here with all the Mods acive on this thread

That is exactly my point. There are a few very narrow minded people that think C/S = only Free Sky and therefore should be banned off the face of the earth.

Some people will no doubt look at C/S for free'ish Sky or Cable, others for access to foreign TV that is not sold by the broadcaster to the UK but should be under EU rules and some will just want to share a legally subscribed card around their home, like I do with a 13e Porn card.

There are many aspects to it - not all bad.

So has it been shelved, the CS section, or am I just going blind?
