Default New sections

We now have a section of the forum specifically for Hybrid receivers, eg the Cable & Satellite Starview HD Combo.

Soon we shall have a dedicated Card-Share section, this will be subject to strict rules, there will be no specific help to setup lines and no asking for or offering shares either private or paid

What is the point in setting up a CS section, we all know what will happen there. If anyone wants to find out about CS they can go to loads of other sites and forums, all that will happen here will be dickheads coming on and openly discussing CS. Whilst I do understand that some on here will be losing a big portion of their income when it is not possible to steal VM channels, that is no reason to allow the setting up of a CS section, so that person can set up an alternative business selling Linux boxes. This is supposed to be a Tech forum and as has been said by some cable lads there should be detailed discussion of CS, I am not in favour of this, but this new section for CS will only give those without the interests of the forum at heart, the place to post some very detailed posts on the workings of CS.

This will end up like the posting of keys and code, which has rearer it's head again recently. I pity the job of the mods, who will be left to pick up the illegal posts, in the CS section. Either you allow the discussion of CS or you do not, there is no use setting up this new CS section and then saying we are all to sit on the fence and talk about CS, but not go into detail. This has got to be the stupidest idea anyone has yet come up with on here, how are you going to police the posts? It is only a few days ago that Brian had to post a very long post about the danger of getting the forum into trouble over posting keys and codes, be they in dec or hex, but now we have this idiotic idea of setting up a CS section where it is not possible to discuss CS, in any detail. Would some of the ruling body here, please explain what is the purpose of this new CS section, I would love to know? We are near a position where the threat of posting keys and code will be eliminated and some genius has come up with another way to get the forum into trouble. I know what the arguments will have been for the setting up of this CS section, that it will be better to have all the CS posts in the same place, so the Mods can keep a close watch on them, what a load of old cods wallop. What should have been done, in my opinion, is a decision should have been taken to either allow the discussion of CS or a complete ban put on any talk of CS, not leave the whole thing up in the air, as it already is, where is the point in setting up a new section to do exactly the same as what is now allowed?

I can think of a few Mods who will not be best pleased with this post, but this is supposed to be a democratic forum, not a dictatorship. Now I have had my say, more like a rant some may well think, and I trust that this post will generate some form of discussion.

Regards Wez

No point only having 50 - folk will start posting sh!te anywhere to get their post count up.

500 or 1000 maybe.

Im with KW on this - its a spectacularly bad idea. The sooner Sky UK roll out their new firmware and start shutting out satellite c/s'ing the better as far as Im concerned.

A ''dedicated'' section where you can discuss...nothing! I'm with Wez on this. Either it's allowed or it's not. What's the point of having this section if every other thread is closed as per n3 in cable sections. Its ridiculous. Seems this starview combo is a handy get out clause for some.

As pointed out, this is a technical forum, so what is wrong with the technical discussion of C/S? That is exactly what is being allowed without going into specifics about a particular operator.

Several N3 threads are being closed because they are all identical, there are open threads for discussion of N3, we don't need several new identical threads every day.

I don't think it would be too bad, as long as they get help from the regular posters, when "unfit" posts or content within posts are deemed "unfit", the report button is there to help the Mods, as it's hard work reading every post made on a forum.

If this is a democratic forum maybe there should be a poll on the CS issue. Options
Full CS discussion
Technical CS discussion
No Discussion what so ever.

Personally I couldn't care less as it won't affect my life once I leave the site for the day. I do know a bit about the subject and I might have even availed of it but still only watched it once or twice a week. Too many repeats. It is certainly not free viewing if you include time and equipment required.
A partial discussion as I see it will be a moderating nightmare though I do like a good tech discussion. We have all seen the mad rush by the masses when they loose their channels and don't know any better than to post everywhere to get their channels back. From the sites point of view I think you should only consider all or nothing.

I would think it would be full discussion barring the mention of providers of service and encryption.
