HTC HD2 hands down!! (apart from the 3gs)
The nexus is lagging big time (staill awaiting new update) voda and tmobile get it next month and the N97 is being withdrawn from voda and orange due to the software issues N900 is also a good shout but again still having problems (best to wait for the N920) Best to come is the X10 from Sony and the X10 mini, Also HTC HD mini The hero is a basic phone low cost handset but will do a great job for someone just starting out with "smart phones" but the one to watch is the HTC bravo cheap and powerfull!!! should be out april/may time cost is around £220 |

its already out
Nexus One gets a software update, enables multitouch (updated with video!) -- Engadget but from what I'm told still very buggy, had a play around a couple of weeks ago in work not a bad phone but should have been better. we'll soon see when the networks get hold of it |

Right I just got hold of a jailbroken iphone 3g (not 3gs) and I have to say its nothing short of amazing! You can do so many things with it...I've already got tomtom put on it as well as some other apps. I've put backgrounder on it which allows me to run more than one app simultaneously. I definitely put it ahead of the HTC Hero to be honest as its much easier to use and has a lot more interesting applications...
Ultimately, the HTC Hero is better than an iphone 3G, but a jailbroken iphone 3G is MUCH better than the HTC Hero.
