dont want to burst your bubble mate. But there is no answer to Nagra 3, so it doesn'nt matter if its sat/cable or it makes you a cuppa tea in the morning when you wake up. There are no boxes on the market that can get past nagra 3, and there probably wont be.

It isn't the box itself that enables all the channels, it's the firmware (or keys) that you put on the box that decrypt the premium channels and there is no way of this happening on N3 (yet..... fingers crossed
).

Its simply another box which will be capable of acting as a CS client. If your lucky the client will allow you to connect to the CS of your choice. If your not then you'll be locked into a proprietary CS system. Regardless, you wont be getting free TV. You have to pay some kind of subscription for access to commercial CS systems which, tbh, is little cheaper than having your own legit sub. The only difference is where the cash finally ends up !

This box includes access to a C/S server for N3 Ireland, not UK. I guess you can connect to any C/S server, but as the Irish server is included in the price, there is no point in getting one in the UK as you are paying for something that you cannot use.
BTW, some people do refer to C/S as the N3 hack. I've moved this thread to the starview section.

Its ok as long as boxes are being sold to support the server but what happens once the market is saturated. Who's going to maintain the subscriptions ? For Ireland, I think there's somwhere close to 20 transponders so thats likely to be 20 subs required. Plus, the NTL areas will likely still have different card info to the Chorus areas so that could be another 20 subs required. Dunno what the price of a sub is in Ireland but lets say they average out at 50Euro each (A lot of the cards wont need to be full sub) so thats 40 * 50 = 2000Euro a month just to maintain the subs. If its done properly then you really should double up on cards to prevent certain forms of attack so that could potentially be 4000Euro a month So, where's that money going to come from once box sales start to drop off ? |
